Those of you who worked with or knew Sherman Lazrus throughout the years, whether during his career in government, real estate or financing, please be advised that, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, Sherman died in January, 2017.
On the website www.americanmedicalcapital.com, there is reference to Sherman Lazrus. In fact, his name is misleadingly listed under the about us tab.
Warning to all who visit that website. Sherman Lazrus and his Company, American Medical Enterprises, never had (and never will have) any affiliation with the company that sponsors that website. That Company, American Medical Capital, LLC was formed after Sherman's death on January 17, 2017. See http://www.dleg.state.mi.us/bcs_corp/dt_llc.asp?id_nbr=F18022&name_entity=AMERICAN%20MEDICAL%20CAPITAL%20LLC
While it is true that American Medical Enterprises had a division known as American Medical Capital and that Archie Eggleton, the owner of American Medical Capital, LLC worked on commission for Sherman at American Medical Capital, you should be aware of the following:
1. Sherman trusted Eggleton to maintain American Medical Capital's website and its name on behalf ofSherman. Unbeknownst to Sherman, Eggleton registered americanmedical.com in his own name, rather than in Sherman's name or that of his company. Eggleton's comments about the website on his website are simply not true. Thus Eggleton was able to establish the website www.americanmedicalcapital.com for his new company.
2. Although Mr. Eggleton states that the outcome of transactions between Fifth Third Bank and Sherman Lazrus are confidential, the outcome is that the transactions did not occur.
3. Mr. Eggleton states on his website that Sherman Lazrus asked Mr. Eggleton to come to work for him; however, the story that Sherman Lazrus always told me is that Mr. Eggleton asked to come to work for Sherman Lazrus (actually the word he used was begged).
4. Contrary to what Mr. Eggleton says on his website, American Medical Capital never consummated a transaction involving Life Settlements. His "main office he refers to on that page is actually a office (or perhaps just a mailing address) at the Regus shared offices in Grand Rapids.
5. To the best of my knowledge, information and belief, Eggleton never was able to consummate a projectwith Sherman and thus never received a commission. If Mr. Eggleton suggests otherwise, ask him for proof, as well as proof that he consummated the transactions in 2017 that he describes.
6. Although Mr. Eggleton states that the website was his idea, it actually was Sherman's idea, prior to ever meeting Mr. Eggleton.
7. Sherman described Eggleton to me as someone, in his opinion, good at following orders, but not capable of original thought or understanding sophisticated financial concepts.
There are other misstatements and half truths on his website. For further information, please contact Jay Lazrus at jlazrus@raegroup.com.
